2.5 Assist is the primary method to use mAAp. mAAp Utility is a secondary means of installation for Windows users. If you install it by any other means, it may be possible for you to have a ban by an anti-cheat organization. This is simply because of the fact that you are supposed to only have the files that the server has, if you have any extra files (i.e. the ones included in the mAAp Pack), PB will kick you for a whitelist violation. Anti-cheat organizations might issue a ban for this. To avoid this, all you have to do is use 2.5 Assist. It is a small yet very powerfull program that automatically handles your AA files so that you don’t have to. You can also use it to host mAAp Pack servers.
Non-Assist Client Installation (Windows)
-Note: With the release of MP6 there is a new program now called mAAp Utility. This program automatically moves files based upon what option you choose in the program.
-Note: Mac and Linux users will have to use Assist or do a manual install and make a copy of their installation. mAAp Utility is only for Windows.
1. Download the latest version of the mAAp Pack and open it up with 7zip. Extract “maap6″ to your Americas Army installation folder like so:

2. Inside “maap6″ is a program that will let you launch Americas Army in either regular or mAAp mode. This program is called mAAp Utility and must not be moved from it’s location. You may make a shortcut to your desktop by right-clicking on the exe file and selecting “copy”. Then right click on your desktop and select “paste shortcut”.

3. Run mAAp Utility and enjoy MP6!

Client Post-installation Notes
-Note: To play offline maps you will first have to open the map by pressing “~” to get into the console and then type “open mapname.aao”. Replacing “mapname.aao” with the actual name of the map. To move around type “mpcheat playerlock0″.
-Note: With the release of 2.8 and the America’s Army Mission Editor there is apparently a new feature implemented into the authorization servers that causes servers running “unofficial” maps to quit sending server info to Gamespy. Because of this, certain maps in the mAAp Pack may make the server disappear from the browser. You can still connect to it via the console “open 12.34.567.89″ or whatever your server’s IP happens to be. Also note that if you start your server on one of these “Official” maps, and you then move it to a non “Official” map, your server will no longer show up in the browser until you actually RESTART your server on a “Official” map. Using the “admin a_open” or “admin switch” commands do not work, the server must be restarted. This is fixed when using 2.5 Assist to run a game server. There may be a fix in a later version of the mAAp Pack to solve this issue on bought servers such as those from Art of War Central or other hosts.
Server Installation Instructions
-Note: Since this is a modification to America’s Army, several things have been changed. We highly recommend NOT streaming to any anti-cheat organization to avoid any unforeseen problems that may occur and cause users to be banned.
-Note: To make it easier to run servers, 2.5 Assist can run your server for you with options that were never before available. You can also use it to run mAAp Pack servers.
1. Start with a fresh/clean server installation of America’s Army.
2. Log into your server’s FTP.
3. You will see various folders in your servers FTP such as “Animations”, “Briefings”… etc.
4. Extract the mAAp Pack version to your desktop.
5. You will see similar folders on your desktop “Briefings”, “Maps”… etc.
6. Copy those folders to your FTP. You want to overwrite any existing files on your server.
